First Day in Spain
We had a long, exciting day. We woke up to a nice breakfast in the air. We arrived late to Amsterdam, but they held the next plane for us! After settling into our hotel we had a free afternoon. Students went off on their own in small groups. Our hotel is located right next to the Gran Villa. This is a large shopping street with dozens of other walking streets in the area full of restaurants, shops, squares, etc. Most students shopped and ate. Peter and Blake went bold and took the Metro over to the Real Madrid stadium to be near the action of today's big game. They are sporting their new scarfs below. Next, we regouped and had a tour of two major squares, Puerta del Sol and the famous Plaza Mayor. Finally, we were off do dinner. Everyone was exhausted so we had an early curfew. Tomorrow will be a long day seeing all that Madrid has to offer.
